So it begins …

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, gamers of all shapes and sizes! My name is Frankie, and I will be your obsessive-compulsive gaming blogger … from here to eternity … or until the internet runs out of space to type in … or ’till the rapture (I’m certainly not getting in to heaven) … or perhaps until 2012 when all the planets line up and the massive shift in the magnetic poles causes every bit of technology to go ker-flooey … or, well, I think you get the picture.

Let me give you a quick breakdown of who I am, why I’m here, and what exactly to expect from me : I’ve spent the better part of the past 20 years working in the “entertainment industry”. Sorry, no, nothing glamorous. It’s all been on the sales side of things – I’ve managed video stores, movie theaters, video game stores and other things (some much more professionally “interesting” that I’ll share later) … and despite years of having to deal with the most annoying, ignorant, and downright abusive customers ever, I’ve come out on the other side with my passion for all things entertainment in-tact, and just a minimal amount of physical (and emotional) scarring.

I’m here to take on my favorite section of the entertainment world : VIDEO GAMES. This is my forum to be as passionate as I want to be about all things gaming from Pong to PS3, and not worry about the “repercussions” that await for me on the local gaming message boards (ie getting called a “Sony fanboy” by the resident 15,000 post-having 13 year old with the Halo avatar and the Fall Out Boy lyrics in their signature).

Be prepared for strong opinions, be prepared for irreverence, be prepared to be entertained … as I’m absolutely not going to spoon-feed you news feeds with no personal opinions attached. I have no problem sharing my feelings on the smart moves that I think companies are making, as well as the bone-headed ones, so if you hold a certain gaming company in high-regard, I’ll warn you in advance – I make no bones about saying what I think and I make no apologies about what I feel.

Gamers are currently taking part in one of the greatest, biggest money-making, fastest evolving entertainment movements in the world, and I’m here to document my obsession, and hopefully bring a smile or two to your faces in the process.
